MediaInfo App Reviews

very helpful tool for video editors

I work with a multitude of video files that I get from other people, and I also encode video files for other people to their specifications. Being able to quickly see the codec, bit rate, frame rate and so on is very helpful. It just works and does what it is supposed to do. The GUI could be a little nicer, but that’s not really important so I still give it five stars.

The application “MediaInfo.app” can’t be opened.

Purchased and installed new version from the App Store and tried to open it only to recieve this error message "The application “MediaInfo.app” can’t be opened"

Checking codecs by URL not work | Проверка по URL не работает

EN: Checking codecs by URL not work RU: Проверка по URL не работает

Lacks a MAJOR feature -

OUr Windows using frinds can view more than one file at a time. This version wil NOT allow side by side viewing of multiple files. Fix this and the rating goes straight to 5 stars.

Useless

Completely useless application. Does not tell you anything about the files. Waste of money.

I lIke it, just needs a Bug Fix

There is one problem with this App that requires attention. It incorecctly states the Field Dominance of Interlaced Files. It will State they are Bottom Filed First when they are actually Top Field First. Then when you actually do get files that are Bottom Filed First it seems to give the correct Field Dominance. For the most part all interlaced files seem to come up as Bottom Field First. Thanks and please fix it.

Not what I was looking for

I was searching for a simple tool to see the total play time of several mp3 files. This utility shows media info only for one file at a time, not totals. Useless to me.

Terrible

Upon installing this application, it set itself as the default application for every type of video file. Extremely annoying.

Does What It Says

I was looking for a slightly easier way to inspect new iTunes MPEG-4 atoms than using AtomicParsley, and MediaInfo does the trick, in addition to showing detailed track information. Very happy with this app!

Really? I am not a Code Junkie!

App leads you to believe you can update your .mp4 data; however, the support documents are not very clear on how to do this.

great little utility

I needed something that could confirm the specs for telephony files created for my client. This does it instantly, and even is in the Services contextual menu for even faster access.

Needs more attractive icon

Besides that the app is extremely useful. Its just too bad such a useful app is wrapped in an ugly icon :(

Dont mind payin but need more basic features

Ive notice that this tool is a free tool but on the App Store they try to get some money. Im totally OK with that - but if you take money add features. 1. Add side by side view of two or more files 2. Add some links to explaining everything regarding the formats 3. Fix the Icon and make the GUI better looking Other then that - it does what it say it will

Yay! It works!

I needed a MediaInfo app on my Mac, and this is a perfect implementation of it. I was used to having MediaInfo on my Windows computer, and I was very happy to find this cheap yet effective tool on the Mac App Store. It shows all the advanced codec details I need.

license

I purchased MediaInfo on my MacBook Pro. Can I use it on my IMac as well?

Preferences for TAB

I love mediainfo! Im a very heavy user of this great App and I will kindly sugest a new feature: which is a preference pane to control the initial Tab that will be used when open the program. On my case I use all the time the Tree View Tab. (I never use the "easy view") A second option is to remeber the last Tab view, so when we reopen the app, the tab view will be the last one used.

MediaInfo

This is an amazing application and one that I have used many many times in Windows. So, I was very happy to see that there was a MAC version and for a small fee that is well worth paying. Cost vs what you get is definitely lop sided in that you get all the information you need on any media file and will find it something that is very useful if you are involved in any video editing.

Time save for video compression

MediaInfo saves me a lot of time during my daily video compression tasks.

Good tool for checking video properties, only one thing bugs me...

Love this app and use it more and more everyday, at work and at home, highly suggest anyone involved in Video Editing Streaming Transcoding or simply viewing/reviewing Video, only thing I would change is to allow multiple sessions open at a time so I can compare multiple files side by side but still a great way to see what is really there without opening a bulky NLE or editing app. Keep up the great work and please consider my suggestion, thx!!!

GREAT APP!

All computer should come with this pre-installed. Ive use this appp for such a long time Im happy to support the developer. Keep up the good work!
